IAARA at the 4th Session of the World Urban Forum in Nanjing, China

The World Urban Forum is the world's premier conference on cities and the problems they face in a world where half of humanity is urbanized.
The World Urban Forum was established by the United Nations to examine one of the most pressing issues facing the world today: rapid urbanization and its impact on communities, cities, economies and policies.

The 4th session of WUF was held in Nanjing, China on November 3-6, 2008 and hosted by the Government of China.

IAARA with one of the largest booths at WUF IV committed itself to finding solutions for urban sustainable living by presenting numerous IAARA urban events and engaging in several meetings with high officials of UN-HABITAT for discussions about the World Olympiad for Urban Design and other IAARA programmes aimed at the promotion of urban life.

Seven paintings on display for the promotion of goodwill and peace titled "No War" was one of the major attractions of hall A. Dr. Anna Tibaijuka, Executive Director of UN-HABITAT and Under Secretary General of the United Nations, chose her favorite from the seven paintings and it was given to her as a gift from IAARA on November 5, 2008.
