UN Habitat welcomes the initiatives taken by the Tehran Mayor, Dr. Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and the Tehran Deputy Mayor for Financial and Administrative Affairs, Hossein Mohammad Pourzarandi on the Comprehensive Plan on the Sustainable Incomes of the Tehran Municipality.

UN Habitat has acknowledged the initiative as one of the outstanding plans it has received, the Public Relations Office of the Tehran Municipality announced on June, 28.

A team of experts consisting of the Tehran Municipality managers and other professionals in the field, worked on the plan for two and a half years the result of which was presented to the Islamic City Council of Tehran. The council then approved the plan and published it in 22 articles in the form of a book”, Pourzarandi said.

The plan was offered to UN Habitat by the representative of the Tehran Municipality and was later reviewed and commended by the world body, he further explained.
