The Workshop for the formulation of Local Agenda 21for the city of Qazvin with an approach to sustainable urban development and promotion of housing quality took place on April 6-8, 2008.
The workshop participants included the steering committee, cultural and heritage experts, president and staff members of the research academy of Qazvin, along with the president, vice president, and staff members of the Qazvin Housing and Urban Development Organization.
The Local Agenda 21 Workshop for Qazvin was organized in the framework of the United Nations Agenda 21 guidelines with the support of UN-HABITAT and the Qazvin Housing and Urban Development Organization.
A historical area in Qazvin in critical need of sustainable development was chosen as the location for the Local Agenda 21.
This local agenda 21 programme will be carried out through a spatial development program for the whole site, but in particular a set of predefined locations which include five houses, two hamams, a school, and a mosque.
